A structured, evidence-based approach that helps your brain process and resolve trauma — not just talk about it.
EMDR is a multi-phase, robust therapy that uses all of the elements of memory (images, thoughts, feelings and physical sensations) to release the impact of the past and allow your brain to put negative experiences into deep storage instead of the working memory. We use EMDR not only to treat the things that happened but also to break the patterns developed to adapt to what happened (avoidance, people-pleasing, perfectionism, etc.). EMDR puts you, not the automatic responses, back into the driver’s seat. Further, with IFS-informed EMDR, long-standing relational and attachment patterns which some refer to as C-PTSD can be resolved. The best part? The gains achieved using EMDR are permanent.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured 8-phase therapy approach designed to help your brain process and resolve distressing experiences.
Instead of relying only on talking through problems, EMDR works directly with how memories and emotional responses are stored in the brain. This allows you to reduce the intensity of past experiences and move forward without the same triggers or reactions.
It’s widely used for trauma, but it can also be effective for anxiety, depression, grief, cravings, and long-standing relationship patterns.
We focus on specific memories, patterns, or triggers that are still affecting you.
Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, we help your brain process those experiences.
Memories become less overwhelming and easier to manage.
You’re able to think about the past without the same emotional reaction.

EMDR sessions are structured and focused. We don’t jump straight into processing — we start by building a clear understanding of what you’re dealing with and making sure you feel prepared.
During processing, you’ll remain aware and in control the entire time. The goal isn’t to relive experiences, but to help your brain work through them more effectively.
Sessions are typically part of a broader treatment plan and can be combined with other approaches as needed.
EMDR is often a good option when something from the past continues to affect how you feel, think, or react — even if you understand it logically.
It’s especially helpful when traditional therapy hasn’t fully resolved the issue, or when emotional responses feel stronger than they “should.”
We’ll help you determine if EMDR makes sense for your situation.
